WEEK 10, LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST!!

The course that we have started on 1 April with a great hope of exploring a new horizon of web course in E-teaching and learning through Interactive skills by UOAEI for three months, today I am standing at the very edge of the End!! I am sad, I am really overwhelmed with sorrow for not to interact any more in any Nicenet discussion with all my E-friends whom I got last three months!! This is the last of all 10 weeks  & this is the final posting in Blog of this Interactive web course. My reflection is on my journey on last 90 days course is AWESOME!!
This is my realization on my teaching performance that I did have changed my own conduction on classroom teaching by using technology  which was earlier completely unknown to me, believe me! This miracle has only been possible through this course offered by UO AEI, I am grateful to the authorities of this university.

This week we were completely in a relaxed mood. Among the  two discussions, The Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) is one of them which illustrates how teachers can use technology to enhance learning for K-12 students. The TIM incorporates five interdependent characteristics of meaningful learning environments: active, constructive, goal directed (i.e., reflective), authentic, and collaborative. The TIM associates five levels of technology integration (entry, adoption, adaptation, infusion, and transformation) with each of the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments, Wonderful assessment of self-motivation & evaluation.

Another discussion was on the Tiers of Technology Integration into the Classroom Indicators which involves teacher facilitation of large group learning activities and student productivity use of technology after focusing on the teacher using technology to get the students  job done, so effective for teaching-learning which was completely unknown to me. I know all, now, after the 9 weeks journey on these course modules.

I came, I know, I learn & I enjoy a lofty of things on teaching through technology whether small or large class with one pc or more!

We were all together, all E-teachers from various corners of the world & this is my commitment, we will be together with all till last of our breath through interactive web skills, through our VIRTUAL networks…..

WEEK 9, VERY NEAR TO THE END!!,

A great week indeed for posting and submitting the final project plan!! Yes, with all oddities and difficulties, I am successful to submit my Project plan on time, I had in mind that if I could have got enough time, I can try more to do best. Any how, I will revise it next for my post graduation degree, inshallah.

This week was in a little bit relaxed but I did not enjoy as I was away from on line. I tried for giving my best with my full effort whether I don't know what is coming next!

The nicenet discussion was really wonderful with different learning styles which I enjoyed much. There are effective articles on Learning strategies and ideas on which we can get enough information to follow in our own teaching.

I also must thank Dr.Donna and the University of Oregon for selecting me for this very very lucrative course of the modern time which is the crying need of our teaching pedagogical methods. I would like to express my all gratitude to AEIUO for all their efforts, caring and observation.

I have gone through some articles of Learning Styles in which Richard M. Felder and Barbara A. Solomon's LEARNING STYLES AND STRATEGIESattract me most. I came to know that everybody is active sometimes and reflective sometimes and everybody is sensing sometimes and intuitive sometimes equally. 

There are also visual and verbal learners along with sequential and global learners who can help each other simultaneously.

I also like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator which has been widely used to classify student learning styles in various disciplines. This Model can also help me to use my technology better with my students.

The final posting of this week is about the submission of my Project Plan, I have worked on ' How to manage a large Honours class by using technology in Listening and Speaking skills in Govt. colleges of Bangladesh' which I wanted to do my best.

WEEK 8, ANOTHER BUSIEST HURDLE RACE!!

Allah, the almighty has taken a great examination of my passions & endurance!!  I am grateful to Allah & all my friends who pray for my husband  for his speedy recovery. Alhamdulillah, he is moving towards recovery gradually,

This week is also a hurdle race to me as I am also in the hospital now. I know, I could not have got excellent marks & appreciation but I am trying to move with the  curse by any hook or crook. I am dying to learn everything though I can not manage all.

yes, I have uploaded my draft of plan & I have taken part in the nicenet discussion on using technology. Its really amazing that I have been successful to make a class in nicenet & I got a personal key, wow!! I am charmed!!

I have read some of the articles & visited some sites which all are very effective for our students.

I am worried, I do not know, whether I can finish the course smoothly or not!! Its not easy to use laptop in the hospital beside the patient but I am doing it through my mobile light as all lights are off in the room.

Overall, this week is too a busy week & it gives me a lot information which I did not know earlier.

WEEK 7, ANOTHER WORRIED WEEK!!

Still I am going in a very worried condition. My Husband, since 28 April, he has been suffering from severe Cardiac problem which now needs Open Heart Surgery!!!

I know, Life is too tough to lead but it is really too harsh to live!!! My all kids (4) are fasting for their Dad's soon recovery. Next 19 May is his Surgery date. Please PRAY for him. Dr. has found 6 blocks in his Heart as 80-90% are 4 & dominating & 40-50% are`non-dominating.

You know all, what a fate!! I got promotion in my Profession as an Assistant Professor but I didn't enjoy due to husband's condition.

This week is really a week of all important readings & articles which I didn't read clearly but I got some more ideas on all effective issues on Learner Autonomy.

I have also painted the wall on Padlet.com which really wonderful & I did it first in my life.

I am really upset & don't try to share` much. PLease, Pray for my husband.

WEEK 6, A GREAT STRIDE AHEAD!!!

I didn't post anything in week 6 as I was awfully busy with my Husband in the hospital for his better treatment. I went to Dhaka United Hospital for his Ngeogram & Dr. has found 6 blocks in his heart.

 I was shocked & thundered. I have failed to write anything in Blog whether my own life Blog has been going to write by the Almighty very crucially!!!

I am so tired & exhausted!!!

Please, pray for his getting well soon.

WEEK 5: A BATTLE BETWEEN MYSELF & NEW QUEST IN TEACHING-LEARNING

Another great week with lots of tasks & assignments!!

But Alas!!  It is a great matter of sorrow that in the very beginning of the week, on Sunday evening, my husband has got a mild heart attack (MI) & hospitalized in Critical Coronary Unit (CCU) which after four days treatment, again turned to a major stroke (Shock) on Thursday & doctors has given him treatment on Life support Medicines & instruments. In the meantime, in the hospital, I have done the tasks of Ist half of the week very hurriedly with lots of anxieties.

Alhamdulliah, now, today he is a little bit well but he needs NGEOGRAM for next treatment. I don’t know what a stress I had & have to endure and pass a great tough day!!
This week was also full of reading materials & tasks on the great expected PBL (Project Based Learning), Web Quest, Create Rubrics, Project task with new technology & finally post the all reflections on Blog page.

The reading article on Assessing Learning about Alternative Assessment is very helpful & effective for both teachers & students. Alternative assessment uses activities that reveal what students can do with language, emphasizing their strengths instead of their weaknesses.

Alternative assessment instruments are not only designed and structured differently from traditional tests, but are also graded or scored differently. Because alternative assessment is performance based, it helps instructors emphasize that the point of language learning is communication for meaningful purposes. They involve interaction between assessor (instructor, peers, self) and person assessed. They allow for self-evaluation and self-correction as they proceed.

To be honest, even though the project-based learning is definitely an approach, teachers should implement for the sake of students to learn by researching, understanding & so on, it is really a great treasure of learning by using technology.

I’ve created two rubrics on Web site Design & (http://rubistar.4teachers.org/index.php?screen=ShowRubric&rubric_id=2318336&)  on Oral Debate (http://rubistar.4teachers.org/index.php?screen=ShowRubric&rubric_id=2318348&) in rubistar link & finally added the URL to the wiki rubric page. Both are wonderful & effective.

Any how, I can’t share more today. I have to stop & I will try to do better in future.

WEEK-4..., AN ANOTHER EXPLORATION WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY....

Wow!! What a busy week again I have to pass with lots of tasks as well as anxieties, too. Hey dear all, don’t think that I am anxious for my course assignments rather I was & am worried about my Laptop as it was suddenly switched off on Sunday night and I felt a burning smell, Oh my ALLAH, I went to repair shop & the extreme happy news is that my laptop Hard disc is 100% okey!!! Grateful to Almighty whole-heartily.

It’s really like a treasure hunt to me this week!! A wonderful collection of websites with amazing un-opened window with hidden golden treasure of knowledge, I am spell bound, really thundered.

Any how, in this week 4, we all the participants are assigned to make Discussion on Reading/Writing Skill-Building Websites on Grammar, Vocabulary and so on. When I went to the suggested websites. Oh my Allah, thousands of treasures on various Mines of hidden knowledge which are still waiting for me & all till death!! I can’t but amazed & charmed!!

The second task is that we have to submit & discuss our Project plan on reviewing the Preparing a Technology-Enhanced Lesson Plan. After reading about technology-enhanced lesson plans, I have made my own LP & discussed it on course Nicenet discussions.

 Next, the Participants in this course will have to reflect on at least one course issue and describe the issues that technology might be able to help with  in at least one post on Nicenet. Yes, I did it & I am awfully happy to AEIUO for choosing me & providing me all supporting materials to reach my desired goal.

Thanks to Donna, the untiring Instructor with her affectionate concerns, guiding us regularly & commenting us for our better performance. She is really a lovely Teacher too.

Finally, a Reflective post in my blog with an inner gradual development through this course by AEIUO.

Yes, I am happy enough though I have to go through many oddities as I was in online in last night till 3.pm & I have started again from very early in the morning. I have to play various roles everyday as a mother, a homemaker, a teacher, a wife, a social worker & finally as a Learner. So, I’ve tried at best as I can at night.

I am doing all happily & will do everything within time, inshallah………!!!

WEEK 3...., DISCOVERING & ENJOYING A NEW SKILL IN MYSELF!!

A LIGHTHOUSE WHICH RESEMBLES ME!!

Another week starts with heavy pressure of Assignments and post Comments!! 

In this week 3, I am assigned to perform near about 5 activities on Oral/Aural skills building. There are Reading articles on various authentic materials, developing four integrated skills(LSRW), Speaking lesson plans at One Stop English, Conversation lesson plans at esl.about.com and Communicative lesson plans and so on through exploring different websites as last week  I learned how to search sites through search engines!!

After reading one article on listening-speaking website, and reviewing at least two different speaking, listening, and/or pronunciation web sites in terms of use in their classes, I have to share comments about the sites, including the target students, skills enhanced, and an overall recommendation  in at least one post on Nicenet that includes the URL for the web pages.

After exploring many, I have selected my own choosing one that is related to my country context & my culture and also accustomed with my students for creating a convenient environment for teaching them. Then went for Nicenet discussion which is always started with the prime instructed posting of our respected Teacher, Dear Donna’s wonderful guidelines!! 

The 3^rd task is that I have to make a DELICIOUS website Page of my own with social bookmarking & connect the URL with the course Wiki which was firstly seemed me a complete blind jump into the well!! Delicious is a way to save web links (Favorites/Bookmarks) and find them from any computer on the Internet. It also lets any one to share links easily with others.

I was startled & in a fix. But I have read the instructions again & again & it’s really a great wonder to me that I did it successfully, Wow!! Great!!I felt myself just like a baby who got an unexpected toy without asking!

The 4^th Task is to read through some Project Report writings by several E-teachers of earlier courses & others, and then make a choice for myself for making my own Project Report writing within the upcoming 9 weeks assignments. It will be really a very tough work for me as I am always busy with my profession & family issues!! But I have chosen one Report for me & I will definitely write a Report on time, Inshallah.

The 5^th & last task of this week is to make a Reflective post on my weekly assignments & I am doing so!!!

With the passage of 3 weeks, I feel that I have changed & am changing…I have achieved a confidence on my skills which slowly encourages me to go forward, to make a step onward with a triumphant march to gain my Desired goal from this course. I can compare myself to a Lighthouse!!!

I am exploring, I am enjoying and I am ready for the week 4!!!
